I'm an Architecture Student at a university

we have computers loaded with programs.

architecture, design, animation, modelling, art, photo, video programs

that are crazy expensive, and we can use it 24/7. for free.
the architecture building never closes. not during the night. not during the weekend. always open.

im only gonna be at this school for a couple of years
it's sad, but after this, I wont be able to use these programs til i (download) them, or buy them. or get a strong enough pc to use em.

school's way to busy to have any free time to use them.

recently i wanted to use these animation / 3d rendering programs for my architeture presentations.

i have some noisy thoughts in my head and theyre screaming.

okay. this is harder than I thought.

maybe something better than the bundled software could help.
layers help too.

i didnt realize how useful an additional button on the side (intuos) would help for brush resizing and shit. but i dotn need that im just learning



all i want is a frickin epic black tower with mountains around it.
like those digital environment painters.

this is gonna take a while to learn

Merry Christmas

and life is good
my mini broken netbook has been repaired
i got a macbook pro while waiting for that as well
my friends bought me a replacement camera when i lost mine
im buying a wacom tablet today
and maybe a hammerdrill after christmas

yes, i spend a lot of money on my electronics
but that's just rewarding myself

school was tiring
the scanning room was closed and i have yet to finish that
no recent art


oh oh

there were many work and exposure opportunities lately
i have a 10 day break from school and i should be doing those
anyway

theres an art magazine looking for submissions in canada
and a feature for an architecture magazine in turkey.
now that i have the time, i could.


hope all of uou are doing well

this semester i learned that life can be fricken hard
but jiust keep trucking. work. study. work. study. and youll eventually get your prize.

Second year in architecture school has started
Second week and it's already crazy.
here's my main projects as of now


JOBS

1. ARCHITECTURE STUDENT
so, I have 3 classes this semester - Design Studio, Architectural Technology, Modern Architecture
they're all pretty hardcore and I already feel behind even though I'm not really in bad shape

2. GRAPHICS EDITOR / CARTOONIST
I got a job in the University's weekly newspaper. As graphics editor, I am in charge of drawing the appropriate illustrations for articles that need them, and the editorial cartoon, and occasionally, a comic strip or a cover
this is a weekly task. i just started today. wooooo

3. WEB PAGE SKETCHER
I dont know what this job is called. I design web pages on paper. sketches, color palletes, layouts. basically, i draw on paper and submit it to the company for aproval and then the people create the actual digital website.


GIGS

4. GROCERY NIGHTCREW
I quit in 2 weeks. fun, physical job. but i cant do this anymore. I wanna concentrate on drawing

5. PAINTING
me and my friend are starting to paint on big canvases. I usually sketch. and he paints over it. I handle tech/details while he handles abstracts/colors. then we split 50/50. price tag is crazy high, but we're not rushing to sell it anyway. would help though

6. SELL SHIRTS
i silkscreen custom design tshirts. and plan to sell them.

7. MUSIC
me and my other friends are trying to write songs and collect them into an album. for fun. cause a lot of the architecture students are also musicians




gonna be a busy year

well, I lost this year's competition.
made it to the finals
but not in the top 7

had enough detail but not enough rendering, I guess.

like my friend said,
"learn to flush your shit"

prize is $2000
and I have 109 hours left.  

any far-out suggestions?

abstract can deal with representation of a typical garden.
actual garden will need plants
it should be relaxing, at least
close to nature
a garden inside a concrete building

hmmactually, i dont know if i should hear suggestions now. it would be weird and confusing.

i have a design in mind but it might be too sci-fi.

Eventful day

BIKE TO SCHOOL
got up at 9am and put on my shirt that i made. a silkscreened milkcrate pattern
10 minute bike to school. scenic lake and river path.

BACK IN STUDIO
met everyone again, with their new haircuts.
we chose the best seats. if youre gonne be drawing for days on a spot, you really ahve to think this through
i meet my professor. 7 years in waterloo. 5 years in harvard. lots of internationla masteral experience. yikes

WELCOME MEET
gathering of people, introductions, etc
they give us the annual architectural competition problem on the first day
it's due in a week, and winner gets 2000 dollars.
last year, we need to design a space to dream within campus
this year, we have to redesign the architecture building's 2 former-gardens into new ones

FILES AND BOOKS
walked around with a  friend and manage files and shit
took 10 minutes to decide on which is the perfect coffee mug.
check some used textbooks
and ate subways, catchup chat

NEW DORMS AND ART
my other friends got new dorm buildings. looks so minimalist and chic. and smells nice, too
unfortunately i had to take my dump there
conceptualized some art work with my partner

ART STORE and BUS
bought 3 triangles, a drawing mat, and 7 pieces of paper for $150. ouch
one bus did not want to let us in cause the bus was too full and our papers, canvases are too big to fit

BUDDY-MEET AND TATTOO
seniors are assigned freshmen to meet-up with. mine didnt show up
so i just talked to some freshmen.
for the first time, i saw my friend's new tattoo (that i designed)
she's the 2nd person who used my design for tattoos

BIKE HOME
bike + rain + lightning
change pants. dinner

BIKE TO PARTY
first kegger party of the school year. on the first day of school
DJ was there
games
kegs
dancing
music
photos
drama
laughter
GOODTIMES

ENDING
noise complaint
cops came. i think the party broke the record for most cop cars summoned. (4)
then i walk home with some friend, then bike the dark path alone

A bar inside my university was looking for new art on their walls

so now i have GOTHIC INDUSIAL and TILES:IN THE EYES OF CHILDREN
laminated on 20 inch wide wood

it hangs at the corner of the bar and you can see it from outside going in

when you enlarge and frame your fave pieces, it just feels awesome
let alone hang it on a wall. beside other paintings

they hung originals though. with price tags up to 270 bucks
mine was just a enlarged print laminated on wood. but i still wanna sell it around that range

i was in a bookstore today. enjoying the unexplainable privilege of unwrapped books.

i heard 2 girls crying. im guessing a 12 and an 8 year old. maybe younger.
my sister told me they had a mentally disabled man talking to them before.

i continue reading. the man approached them. they both speak the same asian accent. we guessed theyre related. I eavesdrop 4 meters away

"...stay.... mommy...dont want..."

my sister wonders. i tell her,
the dad is telling these 2 youngsters he's divorcing their mom.

girls went to the bathroom
guy who is like SAM from I AM SAM reqsuests my sister to check up on them inside
my sister went in
father's panicking
siter told me they were talking to someone screaming over the phone. probably the mother

the dad was trying to talk to me
i wasnt answering much. i kinda hate him because he had to tell these kids the badnews while theyre reading. then again, he IS mentally ill.

sister gets out and tells the dad theyll be out in a moment

we went away
sister told me it;s about CUSTODY
so i was part right. the divorce already happened
theyre just crying about wanting to go home to their mother
and maybe dad wants just another day with them



i alwasy find myself in these situations.
i dont know why
and i cant just leave
humans tend to act when there is no one else looking
but will stay put like everyone else if theres a lot of them watching
unles syoure a showboat. when you do the oppsotite and be valor-(ous) only when people are wathcing

i can go for another round tonight. haha

so, i missed a lot of things when i watched it the first time:
1. the top-totem isnt his. it was his wife's totem.
2. minor, but the main kick was meant to be the van hitting the rail. the van hitting the water was the backup
3. the last will did not transform into a pinwheel. they were actually both there. and they did postive reinforcement instead.
