Tiles: In the eyes of Children by MacDoninri Tiles: In the eyes of Children by MacDoninri
was thinking of putting "welcome to deviantART world part 2" as a title. just so people would click it. and get past the not-so-inviting 2 panel colored thumbnail. but lying is bad

medium: Ink/ColoredMarkers on 8.5x11inch paper

please tell me I'm not the only person who Jump-Tiles

some think of lava, some think bottomless pit, some think of water, some think the lines are lasers. some just jump just because theyre colored and the others are not. :D

you think it works better if the Fantasy panel is shown first, then reality second?

drawing lava = more fun than the rest
coloring grocery items = uggghhh

hmm

Tiles: In the eyes of Children by *MacDoninri is undeniably charming, adorable and shows us that adventure can be found in the most unlikely of places. Also suggested by =suzaku009 and phoenixleo. ( Suggested by Gwendolyn12 and Featured by kangel )

When I was younger I saw the tiles as a river and driftwood because the tiles were either forward or sideways, I would hop on the sideways tiles like I was hopping on the driftwood. :D

This is totally what I thought as a kid. :icondragonlaughplz:
At first, I'd hop on the yellow tiles, and I pretended the white tiles were white lava. Then as I decided to hop on the white tiles instead of the yellow ones, I thought of those tiles as death lemonade. :XD:

I still jump tiles given the whime and I get the strangest looks from other adults when I do.  I love how you show both views of the world with the adult/real world in one and the child/fantasy world in the other.

Heh, I love it. This is true of every child. ;P And while this was an older piece for you, it'd be kind of awesome to see other scenarios that children frequently find themselves in. (Fighting the "Dragon" / Tree Stump, Hiding in the cave from predators / Under the table from parents, etc. )

Stumbled across this today and it hit home. I remember the misadventures of me that happened long ago. Imagination is a wonderful thing that is often lost in the young and old alike. Thanks for taking me back

You know the handle on the freezers in stores? When I was little, I pretended I was a witch sliding along the edge of a mountain, KINDA like what that little knight girl and viking boy are doing.

I was jumping too when I was a kid. Sometimes I've invented a story and sometimes I just used the colour. :)

This is great. Reminds when I was twelve, jumping around in a small area of tiles, trying not to touch the same one twice and an elderly man laughed and said; "you missed a spot". I was half embarrassed because I am kind of shy around strangers, but I laughed and shrugged it off by jumping on the tile I had not made it to yet.

I was the kid that only jumped because of boredom or because some of the tiles were colored.

I've used this print as an example of learning through play and now use it for ESL classes in Korea. It translate beautifully and the game really helps enhanance low-level student's English acquisition.

Ordering poster today! Thanks so much for the inspiration!
